My Family

About Me and My Family.
My name is Atticus Finch. I am a respectable lawyer from a small town in Alabama called Maycomb County. I was coming home from a long day at work to my daughter Scout, my son Jem, and their friend Dill, who were playing a game. Allow me to give you some foresight into my curiously named children. Jem's real name is Jeremiah, and Scout's name is Jean-Louise and I have no idea why their little friend's name is Dill.

Anyway, they have been outside playing this game for the longest time. They seemed to be obsessed with one of the neighbors, Mr. Arthur Radley. They called him Boo Radley, and they were terrified even his house. They believed all the rumors about him, such as he had stabbed his father in the leg with a pair of sewing scissors, ate cats, and was dead. I came outside, and Jem had a pair of sewing scissors in his hands. Their other little friend Dill was playing the part of what looked like a cop. Scout was bawling and saying that Jem had stabbed his father and that he was "gonna die horribly". I came up to them and asked what was going on. Jem immediately went red and said "Nothin', sir." I instantly knew what they were doing, " This doesn't have anything to do with the Radleys, does it son? "No sir." was his reply. I told them to stop making fun at Mr. Radley and that he was a respectable person. Jem mumbled something, but I left him alone. I had already ruined his game, and wasn't going to make him feel any worse.
I am also a lawyer. I have had a lot of cases and have gone worked hard for my success. I have done a many other things in my life, but they would take so long to explain and detail, that I won't do it here. Thank you for checking out this small first post, and ask any questions you like. Good day to you all!

The Trial

As you all know, I am a professional lawyer. I have gotten a case of rape from one of the least respected people in the town. He has accused Mr. Tom Robinson of taking advantage of his oldest daughter. This was Mr. Ewell we are speaking of now, and he lives in the "slums" on the other side of the Maycomb county dump. Allow me to give you a little backstory of the Ewells. They have lived in that shack for as long as I can remember. They only go to school for the first day, and then never go back until next year. They are the disease of Maycomb, and we can't seem to get rid of them. Mr. Ewell is a regular drunkard and does not have a job that I know of. "How do they survive?", you may ask. Well, they survive off of the money that Maycomb is required to pay them because they don't have jobs. As you can see, they are an untrustworthy and not very polite.
It was time for the trial. As I gathered all of my things that I needed for the courtroom, and went up to the defendants area. I was defending Tom from Mr. Ewell, and I had a pretty good idea of how to beat him. It wasn't going to be easy. I also guessed that it wasn't going to be particularly difficult, for that matter. I won't bore you on the whole scheme of things, but I did see Jem and Scout up in the Negro stand. Oh well. There was nothing that I could really do. I pretty much had them at this point so, the judge called a release. We had been in there for two hours. After about five minutes, the Judge called us back in. Here we go again.
I am going to leave this one here, and let you have a cliffhanger for a while. I will catch you up soon! Good day to you all!

The Games

The games of kids can go from harmless and innocent, all the way to downright disturbing. I have two kids that will do all sorts of stuff that have some disturbing things in them. For example, in my first post I talked about them acting out the entirety of Mr. Radley's life. That was really creepy, partly because I had no idea that they had been doing it for so long. They also have the weird impulse to play as people that they have read in books. Sometimes I see them acting out things from Huckleberry Finn, or other classics. I have uncovered a list of things that they used to keep themselves busy when they weren't playing the odd games that they came up with: http://peopleof.oureverydaylife.com/popular-childrens-activities-1930s-11364.html
I think that the one that most applied to my kids would be the one with the television, stating how kids read books and comics if they weren't lucky enough to have a television. Comment if any of your kids have played weird games in the past and what they are! I will try to respond to you if I can find it. That's all I have on this subject. Good day to you all!

How To Be A Father.

As the kids say these days, #realtalk coming right up.
As the title of this implies, I will be telling you how it was to deal with an eight year old, and a twelve year old. It is actually pretty easy. All you have to do is tell them the truth, and make sure they have everything taken care of. You also have to tell them no sometimes, otherwise they will think that no isn't an answer and do the thing anyway. If your kids misbehave, I have found a link to a video that I think is really good. I have just one warning: don't hit them. They won't trust you, and they will be terrified of you. You don't want them to stay away from them just because of that, do you? Anyway, that all I've got for this subject, so there you go! Good day to you all!
